Micro Goldendoodles: How Big They Get and What They Cost

A micro Goldendoodle is a Goldendoodle bred toward a smaller adult weight over several generations, finishing at 8 to 20 pounds and standing 9 to 14 inches at the shoulder. They are also called micro mini, toy, or petite Goldendoodles.

What makes a micro a micro

Most micro Goldendoodles are F1BB or multi-generational, meaning there is more Poodle than Golden Retriever in the pedigree. That extra Poodle is what brings the size down, and it is also what gives them their curlier, lower-shedding coats. Our micro Goldendoodles are multi-generational, CKC registered, and both parents are health tested before any breeding.

Micro vs. mini

The difference is adult weight. A micro finishes at 8 to 20 pounds and 9 to 14 inches. A mini finishes at 20 to 35 pounds and 14 to 17 inches. Teacup describes the smallest end of the micro range, roughly 5 to 13 pounds. Temperament, coat, and grooming needs are much the same across all of them - what changes is how much dog you are bringing home.

What they cost

Nationally, micro Goldendoodles run $2,000 to $5,000. Our puppies are $2,500 to $5,500, and size is not what sets the price. Where a puppy lands comes down to genetics, lineage, coat, generation, and rights. Every puppy includes CKC registration, age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, a vet health check, and a one-year genetic health guarantee.

Do they shed?

Very little. Because they carry more Poodle, most have a wavy or curly coat that holds shed hair instead of dropping it. That is good for allergy households, but hair that does not fall out has to be brushed out - plan on brushing three or four times a week and a professional groom every six to eight weeks.
